It was a busy , but very fast first week. There are alot of things to learn and figure out, but in the end, a great week . I could not ask for better people to work with and for. I have been welcomed with open arms by everyone. Even got to move a hot tub, but that is another story 🙂
A number of you have asked me to describe what my new position will entail. As a Support Services Engineer at TOA, there are alot of things that I will be doing.
HIPAA determines how medical information is protected. This is the primary concern of the IT department at TOA. Everything we do must take these laws and procedures into consideration.
I will be supporting something called Picture Archiving and Communication Systems or PACS which is a medical imaging software dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images.
I will be the primary computer and software trainer for the company.
Our Network Engineer has implemented a Cisco telephone system in part of the company. I will act as his primary backup for support and implementation. The goal is to have each of our 8 offices on the IP telephone system soon.
Other things will include working with a helpdesk program called Track-it, backup and support our System engineer with Active Directory and work with a software deploy program called Prism Deploy.
There will be no time to get bored, but that is the fun part of working in IT.
