Today is the last full day in the mountains and it was a full day of hiking and our final trip through Gatlinburg.
This morning we decided to hike Grotto Falls. The hike is 3 miles round-trip and considered moderate in difficulty with roots to use as steps and rocks to use as stairs.
It was interesting to walk behind the water fall and enjoy the view looking through the looking glass effect. The trees are finally starting to add red to their colors with the onset of cold weather. Up until today we’ve had vivid yellows to enjoy.
We strolled through The Village Shops in Gatlinburg one last time for something warm to drink and a stop at the Karmelkorn Shoppe. We visited the Thomas Kincaid gallery where we purchased a puzzle of the last 7 Republican Presidents shooting pool while listening to Abe Lincoln. A few of our other favorite stores would include the gourmet extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars store ZiOlive and the The Spice and Tea Exchange.
Then it was back to the cabin for a relaxing evening before ending a great vacation and heading back to that quiet little house in Mt Juliet.
