Kim and Al

19 Apr

After spending last weekend in South Carolina for our niece Amanda’s wedding, we have spent this week enjoying the company of Kim and Al (my sister and brother in law) here in Nashville.
Yesterday we had a busy day at the
Carnton Plantation, then into the Town of Franklin to enjoy lunch at Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant.
Pictures located here and linked to picture below.

The Plantation guide was awesome adding a dramatic flare that allowed us to feel the atmosphere of the house and the family involved in the Battle of Franklin. He had a great perspective about what the children went through as their parent’s house was used as a battlefield hospital for the Confederate army.

After leaving the Plantation and heading to Franklin for lunch , we were pleasantly surprised to get a table at Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant for lunch. We had not expected to get in because the online reservations showed no available times. But the girls decided to stop and see the Grocery store portion and when the hostess asked “How Many for Lunch” Becky said “4”. AWESOME Meal.

After lunch we walked around town and enjoyed dessert at Sweet Cece’s before heading home to watch both the Red Sox game on the Ipad and the Yankee/Diamondbacks game on TV. The starting pitcher for the Arizona Diamond Backs was Al’s quarterback in Pee Wee football years ago in Cicero, NY.

We found this interesting sign during our walk in town.

We have had a great time this week catching up with them and showing them around Nashville. We have two more days to go and will share more experiences on Sunday.
