Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 1 about the faith that Timothy’s Grandmother and Mother. How they had taught him this faith as he grew. (clearly recalling your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois, then in your mother Eunice, and that I am convinced is in you also.) They set the example of Gods love to him and the faith that he needed to put in God.
On this mothers day, as with every mothers day, I think back to my mom. Its been 29 years since God took her home. But my memories of her never fade, nor do her life lessons. She was a hard worker, taking the city bus many miles to work in the La Touraine Coffee Company. I remember her walking home one day because I needed her and the bus would not be running until later that day.
As with Timothy, my grandmother lived with us and was always there when my sisters and I returned home from school. Life was never easy, but it was always full of love.
God provided me with a wonderful mother-in-law to carry on where my mother left off. Over these last 31 plus years she has been a great example of God’s faithfulness and love. I could not have asked for a better or more understanding woman to be my wife’s example.
Becky is the perfect mother for our children. Always putting God first in every aspect of Sarah and Jeremy’s life. Always praying as decisions are made and always willing to go the extra mile. She is my inspiration to always trust God and keep moving forward. I see our her in every aspect of our children’s lives.
It only seems fitting that today, Mothers Day, I get to post my latest project.
While this changing table is not yet finished, neither is God’s latest gift to our family.
Sarah is being given the opportunity to carry on the role of Timothy’s mother and Becky the role of Timothy’s grandmother. I cannot think of 2 more Godly women to better carry on those roles.
